Before and after the competition started, the two judges encouraged the participants, that the main goal of this competition was to spread world peace and stop war, not just to achieve victory in the competition. “By taking part in this competition, all the children have become winners, because they have given a very important meaning to the victims of war, as well as efforts to stop war,” said Defvi.

The Importance of Peace

Head of the Salatiga City Education Department, Nunuk Dartini, appreciated what IWPG was doing to attract talented children, while at the same time instilling a culture of peace in their hearts. “As informed from IWPG, in previous years, there were Salatiga participants who moved forward to Korea. “I hope that this year our students will also win this international competition,” she said.

According to the Chair of IWPG Indonesia, Ana Milana Puspitasari, IWPG will never stop looking for talented children in drawing or painting. They will be instilled with the meaning of peace, which is the theme of ILPAC every year, namely Peace Let’s be friends. This year, the sub-theme is, “Hearts of peace conveyed to friends who suffer as a result of war”.

By instilling a sense of peace in children from an early age, one day they can become ambassadors of peace for their families, their nation, and even the world. IWPG also embraces mothers to instill a culture of peace from an early age in their children so that the world they live in will be a world of peace, as a valuable legacy for future generations.

Furthermore, Mrs. Nunuk Dartini said, the main element of children’s development in various fields is peace. With peace, children will easily achieve success at school, be happy in their families, and so on.

“Seeing IWPG’s work internationally, which is willing to reach out to children and women to a wide range of regions in both villages and cities, made us interested in working with IWPG. “Our hope is that we don’t stop at only drawing about peace, but we must also continuously instill in children the meaning of peace and ending war,” she said.

It is said that the government facilitates various programs for the advancement of women. “We have implemented many women’s programs, under the auspices of the Education Department. However, regarding peace education, there is nothing yet. “Because of that, we are very enthusiastic about working with IWPG,” said Mrs. Nunuk Dartini.

The mother of two, who already has 3 grandchildren, believes that if women unite, war can be stopped. “The Education Department can start peace education from teachers, PKK members and parents,” she said.

Since its founding in 2013, IWPG has implemented various peace projects and campaigns to achieve world peace. ILPAC is a program that is carried out regularly from year to year. ***
