Omani-Bahraini Products Exhibition Opens in Salalah

Salalah, The Gulf Observer: The fourth edition of the Omani-Bahraini Products Exhibition, organized by the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Society in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Dhofar Governorate branch and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Oman, commenced today in the Wilayat of Salalah. The exhibition will run for 10 days at Salalah Grand Mall.

The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Al-Rawas highlighted the exhibition’s role in promoting Omani products within local and Gulf markets, noting the presence of a national committee dedicated to promoting national products within the GCC and promising markets targeted by the Chamber.

Approximately 33 Omani and Bahraini entrepreneurs are participating in the exhibition, aimed at supporting job creation, increasing trade volume, and establishing partnerships across various sectors.

His Excellency Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Oman, remarked on the continued success of the Omani-Bahraini Products Exhibition in its fourth edition. He emphasized the critical role of entrepreneurs in driving economic development and opening new markets for products in both countries.

“The fourth edition of this exhibition exemplifies the cooperation between our two countries, supporting and developing entrepreneurs in line with Oman Vision 2040 and Bahrain Vision 2030,” said Al Kaabi. “The economic and commercial activities completed between Oman and Bahrain add significant value to the bilateral relations, serving as a model for brotherly relations.”

Nayef bin Hamid Fadel, head of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Dhofar Governorate, praised the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Society’s role in advancing sustainable economic development, industry exchange, job creation, and investment attraction. He noted that the trade volume between Oman and Bahrain reached OMR 240.4 million by the end of 2023, with Omani exports to Bahrain amounting to OMR 41.6 million and Bahraini imports to Oman totaling OMR 198.8 million.

Fadel highlighted key export and import commodities, noting that electrical cables and food products are major Omani exports, while iron ores and diesel are significant imports from Bahrain.

Rudina bint Amer Al-Hajriyah, President of the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Society, underscored the exhibition’s role in strengthening trade and investment relations between the two countries. The event provides a platform for entrepreneurs in small and medium enterprises to showcase their products, enhancing production and quality.

Omani entrepreneur Sheikha Bint Ali Al Balushi and Bahraini craftsman Mohammed Al Nattif, both participants in the exhibition, emphasized the importance of such events for marketing and promoting national products. Al Balushi highlighted the benefits of direct consumer interaction for product development, while Al Nattif noted the inspirational role of Omani heritage in his craft, contributing to the spread of Omani culture and heritage.(001)***
