TNI Task Forces Inspired Yigi Children To Commemorate Children Day

YIGI NDUGA  – The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 432/Waspada Setia Jaya Kostrad, one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Nduga Regency area, Papua Mountain Province. On Thursday, 25 July 2024, the 432 Task Forces, especially the Yigi Post led by First Lieutenant Gayuh Nanda Prayudin, invited children from the Yigi District to join activities to commemorate National Children Day. This activity was implemented in the form of providing additional learning material and distributing several children’s toys.

In his emphasis on the TNI Soldiers, the Commander of 432 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Zulfikar Akbar Helmi, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. Based on that emphasis, on Thursday morning, the Soldiers invited Elementary School age children around Yigi Post to join activities to commemorate National Children Day. The children who received the invitation immediately came to the Yigi Post enthusiastically.

Before starting the activity, 1LT Gayuh expressed his thanks for the enthusiasm and presence of the children at the activity. On that occasion, Gayuh also invited all children participating in the activity to have high goals for the future and study diligently to achieve these goals. After delivering the lesson material, Gayuh distributed several types of toys to the children present. Afterward, the children played several games with the Soldiers inside the Post. After the activity, a child named Marta Gwijangge, said “Thank you Om Tentara (Soldier), we are happy to have a birthday at Post 432. God bless”.

“The initiative of the 432 Task Forces to hold National Children Day commemoration at the Yigi Post, is an effort by the TNI to provide basic necessities services, especially education for school-age children, to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region,” said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
