YIGI NDUGA – The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 432/Waspada Setia Jaya Kostrad, one of the military units under The Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out the mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Sunday, 14 July 2024, one Post from the 432 Task Forces, which was Yigi Post, conducted the “ROSITA” (Buy up Farming Products) belonging to a Papuan Mother, namely Imelda Murib. The Mother brought and sold all of her farming products to the Soldiers of the Yigi Post led by First Lieutenant Gayuh Nanda.
The Commander of 432 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Zulfikar Akbar Helmi, has emphasized to the Soldiers that activities to help people’s difficulties in their assigned areas are the priority in the main tasks of securing the area. Therefore, on that Sunday morning, the Yigi Post Soldiers took advantage of their routine security duty by helping Mama Imelda’s economy who selling her farming products.
During the Rosita program, the Soldiers had the opportunity to interact and communicate with Mama Imelda. By using their own pocket money, the Soldiers bought the products and would use them for their daily food. Responding to the Rosita program, the seller was very happy because her merchandise was bought up by the Soldiers. Mama Imelda was very happy with her revenue that morning and even said, “Thank you, Commander 432, for buying my farming products. God bless you all Soldiers.”
“The initiative of the 432 Task Forces to buy up the farming products in the Yigi Post is the TNI’s effort to help the people’s economy, to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region,” said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
