KUASERAMA YAHUKIMO– The Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Sunday, 7 July 2024, in the context of routine security activities, the Marines Task Forces carried out a patrol by visiting and greeting residents in the Kuaserama Village, which is part of the Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.
Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, left a message to the Soldiers who would conduct the patrol. The message was that every Soldier should use their assignment for positive things, not just tend to do it as a routine. The message was immediately answered with the initiative and creativity of the Marines Soldiers in conducting the Patrol; by communicating and distributing cakes to the community they met along the Patrol route.
By prioritizing the security aspects of the Patrol, when they met the people, the Soldiers asked to communicate and were welcomed with happiness by the Kuaserama residents. Through this Social Communication, the Marines Soldiers also distributed cakes to be enjoyed by the residents. Feeling treated like a close brother, a man, named Edwin Hanuebi, said, “Bapak Tentara (Soldier), thank you for inviting us to talk and sharing cakes. God bless the kindness of TNI Soldiers.”
The KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report, mentioned, “The creativity of the Marines Task Forces in conducting a Patrol with a variety of Social Communication in the Kuaserama Village, is a form of the TNI’s efforts to maintain conducive security in the Papua region.”
